Thank you so much for your help with our trip. Your recommendations for places to stay, sights to visit and even the route to drive were incredibly helpful --because of your help, this was one of the best trips of our lives! Thank you also for taling the time to get to know us and putting together an itinerary that fit us perfectly -- it was NOT a cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all itinerary! I would recommend Clans and Castles to anyone who is planning a trip to Scotland (I already have!). Your help made the difference between a nice trip and a trip we will be talking about for ages.

We had a really wonderful time. All accommodations you chose were perfect and somehow special. We really want to thank you for organizing our trip so well. The fact that everything was booked and paid already was really relieving. Be sure, the next time, we plan to go to Scotland we will ask you to organize the trip again.

We truly loved our visit to Scotland-- everything-- the unspoiled geography, the remarkable history and enduring pride, the stories!!, the warmth of the people, the pubs, the food, the music.....  and we look forward to our return!    Thank you for all of your assistance and patience in planning with us and help in bringing this trip to life!   Warm regards,

Hi Alistair

We had a magnificent time and our expectations of scotland were far exceeded - what a stunning country. The accomodation was all excellent and varied - borthwick castle was a highlight and the meal there had a special atmosphere. Glencoe and the highlands was stunning. We saw lots of castles and detoured to the south coast to see one at Caerlaverock. We appreciated the great service you offered, and the accommodation was all excellent. Thanks again

Alistair

The holiday was fantastic, we all had a good time and I managed to drive there and back without getting lost once, thanks to your directions and maps!
All the accommodation was first-class, no problems or complaints.
Thank you and Alison for all your help with the arrangements and bookings.
I will certainly be recommeding you to family and friends and would have no
hesitation in using your service again. Thank you once again for a
brilliant, stress-free week.

Hello Alastair,

Just wanted to thank you for planning a wonderful itinerary in Scotland for us. We truly enjoyed our stay.  Although certainly not long enough, so will look forward to returning some day.  Beautiful country and so much to see.  We drove over 600 miles in 5 days.  A bit exhausting but well worth it.

Dear Alastair-

I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday in Scotland and your company was the highlight of it all.   Your knowledge and genuine love of your country was inspiring, romantic and most ideal.  Thank you for your wonderful hospitality...I will never forget our trip.

Hello Alastair,

We are back from the trip and would like to thank you again – it was wonderful! Just some of the few highlights are: breakfast by the fireplace in Ethie Castle with 5 dogs running and playing around; drive over the mountains to Applecross where the local Inn served the best food of the trip; climbing Ben Nevis and a mountain in Cairngorms; Glen Lyon had one of the most beatiful roads with lots of animals around; and many many other interesting moments. Everything was great!

Best wishes,

Dear Alastair !

We are back in Miami. This is to thank you for the opportunity you gave us to enjoy the beautiful country and the Scottish hospitality and let you know that, although short, this trip pretty much exceeded our expectations, and not only as far as the quantity of whisky is concerned. Thanks again and all the best.

We had a wonderful visit.  Scotland is just beautiful.  It is refreshing to see a place that hasn't been over- commercialized like we are here in the US.  The castle was a treat and we loved all the beauty of Raemoir house.  We even got some trout fishing in for the kids and the Chef generously agreed to cook it. All the accommodations were great.  We really liked being close but not right on top on the kids.  I think after 2 weeks together we all enjoyed having a little space at the end of the day.  You did a fabulous job with that.

Dear Mister Cunningham,

With a sad feeling in my heart I have to tell you that we're back in Belgium. The trip you planned for us and the country you live in were/are superb. The scenery, the villages, the towns and the peoples were so wonderfull and forthcoming. More than where ever we've been before. For the accomodations you planned for us, just the same. This was the first time in my life that the quotations in the letter you get before you leave, are LESS than the real thing. We all want to thank you for this lovely trip.

What a beautiful country you have! I would be very proud of it. The scenery and people were just wonderful. There wasn't ever a problem. The accommodation that you had arranged was perfect. What an experience we had. We fell in love with the emotion that stirred in us. And are already planning a return trip in the not to distant future. My son is still talking about the castles and history that he learnt along the way.. and yes he did recover well after that day. On the next trip I would like to retrace our family through Scotland and have more time to really appreciate the wondrous beauty that Scotland has to offer. Again, Thank-you for your time and concern.

Hi, Alastair - sorry it took me a while to get back to you.
Scotland is the home of my heart. I felt like I was walking in the footsteps of my ancestors the whole time, and that every piece of land was sacred (with the possible exception of the drive through Glasgow!). Because of the suggestions you made to me, I was able to meet some really interesting Elliotts, including Margaret Elliott, the clan chief. She was very gracious and welcoming. I'd recommend sending all Elliotts to her. I have many amazing stories that will take longer than an email to tell, but want you to know that for an American, being in a land so full of history (and prehistory), and meeting people who love their homeland so much gave me a grounding in my own heritage that I would never have known existed and is precious to me.

Dear Mr. Cunningham,
My son, Tom Miller and I recently visited Scotland on at tour that was arranged by you. I just wanted you to know that everything was wonderfully planned and laid out for us perfectly. Your choices of places to stay (Castle Stuart, Craigellachie Hotel, Old Fishergate House) were the best and certainly added to the total experience. Please accept my most enthusiastic gratitude for making our trip as enjoyable as we could ever have wanted or expected.

Sincerely yours,

Hi Alastair,
Tom and I would like to thank you for selecting very beautiful places to stay and selecting a guide that shared our enthusiasm for castles and was willing to go the extra mile for us each and every day. Once she got to know us, she was able to make excellent choices like switching the Falkland palace to instead visit the Balgonie castle where we spent time meeting a fascinating and inspiring Scot. It was things like this that she did for us each day that made us feel like we were getting the best tour that we could ever have gotten and we got more than our money's worth. She taught us so much about the history of Scotland, the customs, food, language, etc. that we came home not only overwhelmed (in a good way), but enlightened and educated in an area that neither of knew anything about. This trip exceeded our expectations and I want to thank you Alastair for helping me arrange and then rearrange my tour and I want to thank Pauline for making this trip so memorable. We will recommend Clans and Castles to everyone we know.

Hi Alastair,
Sorry this has taken so long! We got back in time to prepare for our BIG wedding reception here, then, I had to finish up a class that I was taking, so things were pretty busy! As for the trip, it went great! The highlight for us was definitely staying at Castle Stuart. We LOVED this place! The hospitality that was shown to us there was wonderful, and the castle was what a true castle should look like. It really helped us that you provided us with an itinerary each day, because that way, we had an agenda to follow, rather than our own whim! Again, thanks so much for your help, and hopefully we can visit Scotland again in the future.

Alastair,
Thanks for the follow up email. I had been trying to get some time to send you an email. First thanks for the card and champagne that greeted us at Dornoch. This was a nice touch. The room at Dornoch was really outstanding and had such a nice large fire place. We felt like we were back in the 1600's staying in a castle. The trip was everything we had hoped it would be and more. Malcolm is an outstanding guide both in his knowledge of Scotland's history and the fact he is just great to be around. I would be more then happy to recommend Clans and Castles to anyone. Let me know if someone is requesting recommendations You really delivered and made our trip everything we had been hoping for.

Thank you

Hi Alastair,
We loved our trip. I couldn’t even really tell you any favorite parts. We loved it all, including the inclement weather. We really want to thank you for making all the arrangements for us – it was so nice to have it all in place, without our having to work or research places or make inquiries. We loved every place, and we ate so much food that we thought we would have to be rolled to the airport! Nearly every meal was such a treat that we came to have high expectations indeed! Feel free to quote me for any marketing materials. We were more than satisfied with all your choices for us, and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back to you for our next trip!
