The Howard is a haven of peace in the centre of Edinburgh. Behind a typical Georgian façade lies a small and exclusive hotel, very close to the centre of town. The butler service may seem a little over the top but it is good to have someone available to help you organise your day, your transport, your shopping, etc. More at www.thehoward.com

All of our properties are within 45 minutes drive of central Edinburgh. The size of available properties varies from eight to eighteen people.
If one of these properties may be of interest to you, we would appreciate an early expression of interest so that we can manage the available accommodation to the best advantage of all.

| FOUR STAR HOTELS IN CENTRAL EDINBURGH |
| The Hilton Grosvenor Hotel has seen a significant amount of Hilton shareholders’ money sunk into its facilities in recent years. The hotel takes up almost the whole of one side of a fine Victorian street in the west end of Edinburgh. It is a happy combination of the traditional and the modern with a fine restaurant and all the facilities you would expect. It is however quite a long walk to Holyrood and so taxis, or the nearby Haymarket train station will be needed. The cost per room per night for bed and breakfast is GBP 196. |
The Albany Hotel is in the traditional early 19th century part of Edinburgh, and just a short walk from the heart of the city. Over the past year this charming boutique hotel has come under new management: all rooms are now refurbished and beyond the fine Georgian front door the décor is unashamedly modern. There is a small restaurant in the basement. It is a pleasant walk of about 20 minutes to Holyrood. The cost per room per night for bed and breakfast is GBP 168 . |

THREE STAR HOTELS IN CENTRAL EDINBURGH
Most people who have contacted us so far have asked to stay somewhere which is good, clean, and reasonably central. Our varied selection of three star hotels meets this need. All are within a short walk of the centre and most are close to Holyrood. Some breakfasts are continental. Since some of these hotels are in historically important buildings, some do not have elevators.
The cost per room per night for bed and breakfast is GBP 140. |

B & Bs WITHIN 15 MINUTES WALK OF HOLYROOD
Get close if you can! The area round Holyrood Park is not traditional B&B country, but these three and four star graded B&Bs (private houses with knowledgeable landladies who let out two or three spare bedrooms) are as close as it gets.
The cost per room per night for bed and breakfast is GBP 110. |

| B & Bs WITHIN THE 18TH CENTURY "NEW TOWN" OF EDINBURGH |
|
It takes a small leap of imagination to hear the carriage wheels passing by the classic town houses, arranged in neat squares and opulent ovals; but the cobbles are still there. You can no longer smell the horses or hear the grooms shouting, but the little mews houses at the foot of the garden are still there. The housemaids and butlers are long gone – you may be sleeping in one of their old rooms – but you still breakfast in the high ceilinged elegance of the traditional dining room, your hostess chatting to you as she serves the scrambled eggs. These houses are no longer restricted to the upper classes, but their 21st century inhabitants probably love them even more and are happy to let out some rooms to appreciative tourists so that they can continue to enjoy living there.
The cost per room per night for bed and breakfast is GBP 150. |
