27 July

Picked up by guide and vehicle at 9 o’clock. See Stirling Castle, then scenic route north, Queen’s View at Loch Tummel, Pass of Killiecrankie and so to Inverness. Dinner with group and tour guide.

28 July

The Clava Cairns (where it all started?), Culloden Battlefield, Cawdor Castle, Inverness.
Evening talk by Hugh Allison on Culloden and Jacobite dress and weaponry.

29 July

Beauly Priory and the Fraser Mausoleum, Moniack Castle, Tour of Castle Leod by Lord Cromartie, Stay Castle Stuart.

30 July

Past Urquhart Castle by Loch Ness and over the hills to the west coast and Glenelg. See the brochs, lunch at the Glenelg Inn, see the old barracks and cross to the Isle of Skye on small ferry.

31 July

 Eilean Donan Castle, the Cuillin Hills, Storyteller in a traditional ‘black house’ in the afternoon. Stay inn on Skye.

1 Aug

By ferry to Mallaig, see Glenfinnan where Prince Charles Edward raised his standard, and view the remains of the fort at Fort William, then by Glencoe and Rannoch Moor to Doune Castle and Edinburgh. Stay Hilton Edinburgh Airport.

2 Aug.

Fly out under own arrangements.
